1987-1996: AT&T Bell Labs: Member of Technical Staff, Holmdel, NJ - ISDN development and component testing, LAN development and system testing, LAN/WAN, Telephony, CCS SS7, Network Performance, Network Impact Assessments, Network Features and Services e.g. Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Roaming, Switch Hand-Off etc. As a representative of AT&T in national standards bodies and a representative of the USA in international standards bodies I authored (and co-authored) many contributions and acquired a vast experience in the national and international technical and political issues related to data communications and telecommunications.
1997-1999: Rockwell Semiconductor - San Diego, CA Engineering Manager - Part of a strategic business unit providing network solutions to customers based on products using the Rockwell chipsets. Our customers were mainly network and ISP providers with specific needs. Managed a team of four SW developers (participating as a manager as well as a systems engineer) for the development of a common network management center for products, from different vendors, using the Rockwell chipsets and needs to be integrated in specific customers network solutions.
1999-20001: ATKSI- Consultant at Lucent Technologies - Marlborough, MA: Program Manager - working on Lucent SoftSwitch products (ISDN, SS7, IP/RTP/RTCP, ATM, xDSL/DSLAM, JTAPI, IVR). Responsibilities included Program Management, Managing Customer Expectations and Customer Satisfaction, Defining Trials and First Office Applications at customers' sites. Defining customers pre-trials and FOA technical questionnaire, and working with customers' technical lead engineers on completing the pre-trial requirements thus improving network integration of Lucent SoftSwitch in the customer lab or field environment. Training Lucent personnel, worldwide, on Lucent SoftSwitch concept, functionality, API, and application in network convergence solutions.
